About the Artist
I grew up in Oakland, California; loved coloring books and designing doll clothes. My first art classes began at the New School in Greenwich Village, the Art Students League in New York City and then the Art Students League in San Francisco. I painted continuously while raising a family and attended painting workshops across the United States.
Persistence paid off and I’ve shown my work in galleries, art & wine festivals, the Bradford Street Gallery and my garden studio in Sonora, California. I’ve also taught workshops in French Villages and also Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Years have passed and I now hold title as a senior artist. I wish I known these simple steps years ago which help so much in understanding the art process, most of the frustration and what to do next! So now I would like to give back!
This Art Workbook is great for both teachers and students.
I would like to see “Learning to See” in all of our schools. Your world will change and you will see color, light and shadow as never before!
You can be
an artist. It just takes technique,
patience and practice!
“Until now all of my watercolors ended up muddy.
Now, with Doris’ simple planning and value instructions,
my watercolors are clean and bright!”
